I have always had a great interest in modern art. I attended art college in the 1980's In Nottingham and Manchester.
I started teaching art in London colleges but my career took a different turn and for 20 years I ran a small, successful software company.
During that time, I continued to paint and draw and now I am working as a professional artist.
Form, energy and especially colour are the focus of my work and to this end, the pieces are, or become, abstract. Emotive, objective or representational elements are the inspiration, but only the beginning of the journey towards a finished piece that is often devoid of these elements. Eventually, what remains in the final piece is pure colour, form and composition.
